Increase in GardenSmart rebate to the end of Winter

As part of the Think water, act water strategy for sustainable water resource management, the ACT Government offers FREE GardenSmart  visits to ACT residents. To encourage people to sign up for a GardenSmart visit during Winter, the $50 rebate available to GardenSmart participants will be doubled to $100 for those who sign up between 10 July and 31 August 2008.

Greywater Hose Give-away - now closed

As part of the Think water, act water strategy for sustainable water resource management, the ACT Government commenced a program in February 2008 to distribute 10,000 greywater diversion hoses, free-of-charge to ACT residents. The hoses were supplied and distributed through Magnet Mart stores.

Due to the fantastic response from the community, all 10,000 hoses were given away in just under three months and the program has now closed.

NEW ToiletSmart rebate program

Chief Minister and Minister for the Environment, Water and Climate Change, Jon Stanhope, has announced the start of a new ToiletSmart rebate program to assist ACT residents in their efforts to become even more water-efficient in their homes. The program is another ACT Government Think water, act water initiative.

FREE GardenSmart service now even  smarter

Improvements to the GardenSmart program now make it even easier for participants to claim their $50 rebate on water-efficient products for their garden. There are also four new items added to the products eligible for the rebate.

ACT Government rainwater tank rebates increase from 1 February 2008

ACT Government rainwater tank rebates increased by $200 from 1 February 2008. The new rebates range from $750 for a tank of at least 2,000 litres capacity to $1,000 for a tank with a capacity of 9,000 litres or more. Tanks must have a plumbing connection to inside the home. New rebate amounts apply only for tanks installed on or after 1 February 2008.
